The FIYC would like to invite you to a talk next Thursday evening, 28th July at 5:30pm at the Chamber of Commerce.
The talk, to be given by Sally Poncet, is about the coastal trading voyages undertaken by local yachts such as Damien II and Golden Fleece in Falklands and South Georgia waters. Come along and hear about life on board these vessels as they voyage for business and pleasure amongst the wildlife and offshore islands of the Southern Ocean. See how modern technology has taken the tradition of working Falklands cutters and schooners into a new century, and enjoy the stunning wildlife images and seascapes that accompany each voyage.
Following the talk which finishes at 6:15 pm, there will be an opportunity to converse with members of the FIYC. Copies of the booklet Southern Ocean Cruising will also be available for purchase: all proceeds to go to the FIYC and a local charity.
We look forward to your company next Thursday.

News and details of activities will also be added to the Falkland Sailing website so non members can share our enjoyment of the sport.
The Club held a barbecue at the end of November 2010 at Sparrow Cove. Here is a picture of the “Warrah” as she leaves Stanley Harbour, taking the bulk of the things we needed.
